About Us

The team behind Holding Space

Who are we?

Holding Space is a lived experience peer support service for people affected by eating disorders. We know how isolating eating disorders can feel, an our aim is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood and less alone. Our team is made up of people with lived experience of eating disorders and recovery. We understand the challenges that can come with navigating treatment, relationships, identity and life beyond the eating disorder because we have experienced them ourselves. We support: individuals aged 16+ with an eating disorder; parents and carers supporting a loved one with an eating disorder and people at any stage of recovery.

We are not therapists, counsellors, healthcare professionals or a crisis service. We do not provide medical advice, treatment or emergency mental health support. Instead we offer connection, encouragement and a non-judgemental space to talk. Our role is to walk alongside you, offering support, understanding and hope as you navigate your own recovery journey. Because nobody should have to navigate an eating disorder alone.
